The study is being conducted in the rural (Palwal) and urban (Faridabad) Haryana which provides the dynamics and nature of changes of social capital in different social context and its association with body mass index.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  • Methods<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/td>\n

This cross sectional study is using both quantitative and qualitative research methods<\/p>\n

Step 1: To identify the variables of social capital the study have done a\u00a0scoping study using qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with 20 individuals and one FGD from each study area (Faridabad city and Palwal)
\nStep 2: A Survey on the variables identified from scoping study. Quantitative questionnaires were developed considering all the possible options for each main\u00a0variables. Individual level questionnaires addressing individual, family and social capital shall also have demographic features and anthropometric measures were also prepared.<\/p>\n

For study population, three urban sectors from Faridabad city were identified, that\u00a0includes the upper class population, and 9 out of 48 villages from INCLEN-SOMAARTH Demographic Surveillance site<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  1. Description of social capital including social networks of adolescents and young adults residing in an area of rapid economic transition.<\/li>\n
  2. Relationship between social capital and its key components with cardio metabolic risk factors (BMI, BP, and body fat).<\/li>\n
  3. Identification of components of social capital with strongest association with cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents and young adults and their potential for intervention<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
