Develop mobile-phone based cardiotocograph for FHR, fetal movement and uterine contraction monitoring with in-built algorithm for interpretation and action
Validate the device (for FHR, uterine contraction) compared to the standard CTG.
Document the advantages and challenges of device use during clinical validation.

Methods
This innovation project explores development of a mCTG platform with inbuilt algorithm for categorization of the readings into normal, abnormal and actions linked to the same. The proposed mobile based (m-CTG) device shall have the functions of standard CTG devices including FHR, fetal movements and uterine contraction. This device shall be mobile/ portable and easy to handle. Real-time data transmission by the mobile device shall allow referral and action for high risk cases. Other m-Health applications can be easily integrated for comprehensive and single window continuum service delivery.
The mCTG device and algorithm will be clinically validated in medical college/ tertiary care hospital setting in reference to the standard CTG device and document the advantages and challenges through user feedback and clinical comparison.
This shall enforce standardize case management and protocol adherence. On successful development, industry partnership will enable mass scale production and marketing along with adoption in the public health system.
Expected Outcomes
Develop a low cost mobile-based CTG job-aid device for health functionaries to screen, monitor and detect at-risk fetuses and high-risk pregnant women for early referral and action, which can be easily integrated into the other MCH program service delivery components to ensure continuum of care
